The Craftsman Bungalow

Not all true Craftsman Homes are bungalows—and not all bungalows are in a Craftsman or Arts and Crafts style. Still, there is a lot of overlap, as the bungalow period coincided with the publication of The Craftsman magazine, which itself touted the merits of the small, artistic bungalow, among other house types. These days, “Craftsman Bungalow” refers to a small (one or one-and-a-half storey), low-slung house that exhibits motifs of the American Arts and Crafts period.
